The GAPsLab at the Institute for Genomic Health and the Department of Genetics and Genomics Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, is a multi-disciplinary research group focused on studying the role of mental health on aging and age-related conditions. Examining mental health is crucial given that it significantly influences the overall quality of life, cognitive function, and physical health. Understanding these interactions using various observational (e.g. electronic health records) and omics data (genetics, transcriptomics, proteomics, etc.) can deepen our understanding of underlying biological mechanisms, ultimately bringing us closer to precision medicine, more effective interventions, and promoting well-being in the aging population.
